Three Stream Worship

Making Visible The Kingdom of God

CEC Three Stream Worship

The Mid Atlantic Diocese worships God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We worship in the manner of the early church. We worship in all three streams of orthodox (traditional) christianity. This means that we are fully Charismatic, fully evangelical, and fully liturgical.

Liturgical

"The Place Where Grace Comes Down"

Sacramental/Liturgical

We are a church that is fully Sacramental/Liturgical. This means that we believe in, and celebrate all 7 sacraments of the church as seen throughout history. These are Baptism, Holy Eucharist, Confirmation, Confession, Annointing with oil, Matrimony, & Holy Orders. These, we believe, are gifts of God to His people and are each a place where grace comes down. Each plays an integral role is the breaking of chains, the equipping of the saints, and the glorification of our heavenly Father. "Episcopal", simply means governed by bishops, and in that fashion we have a hierarchy of bishops, priests, and deacons in the line of apostolic succession.

The Charismatic Episcopal Church is not affiliated with the Episcopal Church USA or the Anglican Communion.

Our Mission

"Go Therefore and Make Disciples"

Evangelical

The CEC and the Mid Atlantic Diocese holds a unique position between the evangelical and sacramental aspects of a universal church divided. We are Fully Evangelical, believing that all scripture is God-breathed and unerring. We seek to build God's kingdom on the earth by ministering to the least, the lost, and the lonely. We desire God's will to be done in the lives of all people and to see the furtherance of His glory. Through the use of liturgy and tradition, the salvation message is proclaimed in every mass. Our charismatic nature also drives us to share God through His miraculous works just as Jesus, our great example, did in the gospels.

Charismatic

"I will pour out My Spirit on all peoples"

Charismatic

Charismatic simply means we move in the scriptural gifts of the Holy Spirit. These are: Words of Knowledge, Faith, Healing, Miracles, Prophecy, Discerning of Spirits, Speaking in Tongues, and Interpretation of Tongues. The CEC witnesses that these gifts of the New Testament are alive and should be active in the church. The authority of the clergy and the unity of the body, and the testimony of scripture provide a perfect setting to operate in these gifts and to see God unlock your full potential as a believer and saint.

Our Facilities

"...from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages..."

Come Together

We are men and women of faith gathered from diverse backgrounds seeking an expression of the church that is fully sacramental-liturgical, evangelical and charismatic. These three streams converge not in confusion but in unity, with no one stream preeminent over the others: Church that is submitted to the authority of Scripture, as interpreted by the continuing witness of the ancient church and governed by consensus. Our worship is Biblical, Liturgical and Spirit-filled, ancient and contemporary, holy and joyful. We live to show forth God’s praise, not only with our lips but in our lives, by giving up ourselves to His service, and by walking before Him, in holiness and righteousness, all our days. We are committed to advancing God’s kingdom by proclaiming the Gospel to the least, the lost, and the lonely.
